My Pursuit of Wellness
In early 2003, after a year of exhaustion, chronic pain, poking, proding, and testing, a medical doctor finally diagnosed me with a condition called Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. I started reading labels, purging my life of unnecessary chemicals and being mindful of what I put on, in, and around my body.
Over the following decade I had to continuously learn about natural, less-toxic alternatives to everything I needed to function and plan each venture out of the house with time to rest and recover.
Over the years, I had found temporary relief by means of herbs, essential oils, biofeedback sessions, ionic foot baths, and occasional food 'cleanses'.
In the fall of 2012, I met someone named Adam Roberts on the playground of my son's preschool. It changed my life. He is the owner of Herbal Health and Wellness in Franklin, TN. He uses a Chinese Medicine approach to the body for finding the source of a problem rather than trying to treat symptoms. With his advanced method of muscle testing the body, he can customize each treatment to exactly what the body is asking for. He calls it needle-less acupuncture and connectology; using diluted essential oils on reflexology points on the feet or along the Chinese meridians of the body. For the first time ever, I started feeling like a "normal" healthy person. My friends started getting amazing results as well. It was then that I wondered - can I do this too? I want to help more of my friends achieve wellness.
I took a connectology class from Adam to get the basic understanding of how to do (and understand) what it is he does. Then I enrolled in a massage therapy school to begin my journey and get the proper licensing, and understanding of anatomy and physiology. During this time, I was introduced to Red Light therapy by a massage therapist and began researching the benefits of light therapies. I also was introduced to the Bars therapy by a classmate and independently took a class to learn how to facillitate a session. Of course, I was learning massage therapy in school and I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in June 2014.
In early 2015, we left Tennessee and moved to Lakewood, Colorado. In January of 2016, I became a Certified Light Therapist and began working with the company In Light Wellness Systems (now InLight Medical). These devices are FDA cleared for reducing pain and inflammation, and increasing circulation - they are truly amazing and powerful. In February of 2018, we returned to Tennessee, and are currently in the Lebanon and Watertown area.
Witnessing the transformation in health for others has been very rewarding to say the least, especially for those who have tried so many other therapies and not been able to find true relief. I now have a therapy for just about anyone's needs! Schedule your session today!
“ Amanda offers many therapy's and I've had the privilege of benefiting from two of them. The Red Light Therapy is amazing and has helped me with my arthritis flares due to stress. Also when I was bit up by some mystery bug red light took the painful itching swelling, to a very quick relief and healing.
I've also had her "bars" therapy. I had a very stressful trauma that I was having a hard time processing . She in one session freed my mind from the cycle of thoughts and allowed my body to release the stress. I highly recommend both types of therapy and look forward to more beneficial sessions.”
"We underwent a lot of changes in one year and the entire family was under a lot of stress. I was mad at myself that I didn't have the same patience and tolerance that I used to have before the intense stress started and I know it was affecting my young son as well. I got a Bars therapy done and immediately could deal with the stress better. Things didn't frustrate or anger me quickly and I could feel better about myself because I knew I was handling situations better."
Sometimes we need someone to give us that extra hand to get a muscle to relax back into place.
I try to add a therapeutic touch to the relaxation of a basic Swedish massage. [...]
Light is a form of energy that behaves both as a wave and as a stream of particles called photons. Our body can use these tiny packets of energy to promote healing and wellness. According to clinical studies, light therapy has been shown to increase energy; stimulate collagen, ATP (adenosine triphosphate, an important energy source in the body) and nitric oxide; reduce pain and inflammation; and reduce stress.
